We couldn't avoid it ....... another lockdown, starting tonight at 6pm.
Only 3 days ....
Let's keep our fingers crossed that it will end tomorrow at 6pm .....
because if it doesn't ...
we can't go on our 3 week trip around the Outback of Australia.
When we decide to take long-service leave, we wanted to fly up to Darwin, rent a 4 x 4 and drive from Darwin to Broom. That will be from the Northern Territory (NT) to Western Australia (WA). We wanted to visit Kakadu National Park and all the amazing places at the top of Australia. But ....
Because of C0VID, WA closes its borders to all states every time there's a case somewhere, so we couldn't risk being stuck in another state and not being able to come home or have to go into hotel quarantine for 2 weeks after our holiday. Our employers won't be happy if we're away 5 instead of 3 weeks.
We opted to stay in QLD, that will be safe ....... NOT!
Hoping we won't have to change our plans last minute, as we have no idea how we can travel the distances we're about to embark on if we have to start a week later. For us, it will be a disaster if we have to change our plans.
I know that many people had to change plans, and we are all in the same boat. But I really hope we can still do this trip.
